One of them Days

Today is just one of those days.  I mean THOSE days!  You know it is a Thursday and I wish it was Friday.  I am tired and feel really nauseous.  As the day goes on I feel dizzy, sick, and my head is pounding.  Not sure why but I felt this way yesterday.  I was talking to Blake during my lunch break about diner.  We are having kielbasa, potatoes, and sauerkraut.  Just the thought of it made me want to get sick.  It was like I could smell it.  I love this meal actually.  On top of all of that I am cold and then hot.  My little ankle burning heater is just as confused as me.  3 more hours Erin, you can do it!

Please someone come give me a big comfy blanket and a fluffy pillow.  Oh please don’t forget some cozy pj’s!

Here is a little old school for those of you who remember Monica.  She had “them days” too.  (Gotta love the cell phone!)

Keeping Dog’s Ears Clean

Wfmwheader

Trying to keep up with Chloe can be very hard.  Especially when it comes to her ears.  With her big long ears she is prone to infection.  If you have a lab or any other dog with lop ears you will have the same problem as they do not always receive adequate ventilation to keep the ear canals dry. This dark, moist environment creates the perfect conditions for bacteria to multiply. I find Chloe shaking her head and scratching her ears all the time.  With regular ear maintenance we can prevent ear infections.

So a good tip that the vet gave me when she was just a pup was to keep cotton balls soaking all the time.  I just take a plastic container with a lid and fill it with ear cleaning solution.  You can buy this or to save some money make your own.  I always make my own and it works great.

Use equal parts: 1 part vinegar, 1 part hydrogen peroxided, and 1 part water.  Then just fill the container with cotton balls and put the lid on it.  I keep this under the bathroom sink.  Then whenever Chloe needs her ears cleaned I have it ready.

For those who are not sure how to clean their pets ears with out hurting them, just take the wet cotton ball and place it right at the base of the ear.  Then gently message the outsides of the ears where you placed the cotton ball.  This will help the solutions to get down in the ear and your dog with enjoy the ear rub.  When you remove the cotton ball just wipe any dirt debre out that was loosened.  Your dog will shake its head to get anything else out.

The Dentist

We went to the Dentist yesterday for a cleaning.  Blake hates going because of a bad time he had the last time he went.  (He went to one that didn’t use any antiseptic.)  He was dreading it but the Dentist we saw this time was really great.

After we got home I found this on TV.  I thought it was fitting for the day!

Little Shop of Horrors

ipod

A while back ago Blake and I were in Wal Mart.  As we walking inside the store I couldn’t help but notice the large group of people standing around the Claw machine.  It was like a mother and about 4 or 5 kids.  A teenage girl was in position of Claw operator.  Apparently she was really close to winning something.  The next thing I know they were all yelling and cheering.  Wow, I thought to myself, they are really getting into that game.  Then the mother says in a loud voice for all to hear her excitement; “Do you know what that is?  That is one of them ipod’s!”

I couldn’t help but laugh!  I guess that ipod I have been wanting has been in a 50 cent claw machine all this time!

The Office

We don’t really watch any TV.  But there is one show that we started watching that I miss so much.

When we left The Office way back on November 15, Jan had sued Dunder Mifflin for wrongful termination and brought Michael to arbitration as a witness. But when it became clear that Jan never had much respect for Michael, the devoted regional manager sided with the company and their relationship bit the dust. On a more romantic note, Jim and Pam are still lucky in love... and we hope they still will be by the time the show comes back!NBC/Mitchell Haaseth - Wednesday, January, 9, 2008, 10:9 PM  The Office

We started watching this on Netflix.  You can watch on your computer instantly.  We started at Season One and watched them all in order.  Now they have run out of episodes because of the strike.  So this is my plea.  ” Please end the strike so I can laugh hysterically again at my favorite show!”

Weimaraner Run

We decided that we should try to get our street name changed.  The other day I met our new neighbor; or soon to be at least.  He is building a house across the street from us.  We were out with Chloe and he said he has a Weim too!  AND another couple that bought a lot on the end of our street also have a Weim.  I am so excited.  As soon as they all get moved in Chloe will have some buddies to play with.

Don’t you think the street should now be changed to Weimaraner Run?

Tile and Paint

So now that we will have sheet rock on the walls after this weekend, I have to finalize all of the plans.  For our tile we have picked out this:

Since half of our house is underground we can’t use wood on the floors.  So we will put tile in every room except the bedroom.  We picked this out last fall and recently seen it laid in one of our favorite restaurants.  It looked really good!

For our paint colors we have (I think) finalized the colors.  For the living room, kitchen, dinning room, and foyer we have chosen this:

  The green one.

For the bedroom the red one on the end.  And in the bathroom I am doing cream, tan, brown, and white.  Not sure which color the walls will get out of those.  Probably cream or tan.

I will have pictures of the actual walls painted soon!

My Baby Turns 1

It seems like she should still be just a tiny puppy.  Chloe turns 1 year old today.  Some days I am glad she is growing up other days I miss her sweet little puppy face.  I know Blake is glad she is growing up because she keeps chewing on the trim in the hallway.  I will be glad when it turns warm and we can spend more time outside with her.  (By the way for anyone wondering, the water issue is getting much better!)

CVS Trip 3

Tonight we had to go pick up a prescription for Blake at none other than CVS.  (Thanks Babe for having it sent there just because you know how much I love going to CVS!)  So I thought I would get a jump on some of the deals that I was going to get later this week.

cvs3.jpg

I got all this (and 2 Cadbury Eggs that didn’t make it to the picture) for free.  My in-laws are starting to think that I just rob CVS.  I told them I am using ECB’s (they joke and say they are Erin Craig Bucks).

Tonight my total came to 25.82.  I used 4/off 20 coupon.  Then I used 22 ECB’s to pay for the rest.  I got 23 ECB’s back!  So I guess you could say I made 1 dollar!

This was the first trip Blake has gone with me.  I think he really liked walking out of there with a bag full of stuff and not paying a penny.  Or maybe he just liked that I told him he could buy whatever he wanted as far as candy and stuff goes because I needed some fillers.
