Embrace Today

As any of you know I have not been feeling well at all in my pregnancy so far.  I feel like I am just in survival mode just trying to get through the day.  I just keep trying to put days behind me so I can move closer to feeling better.

Yesterday I was reading my reagualr blogs and I came across a great challenge and encouragement.  Crystal of Biblical Womanhood is now also expecting (her 3rd).  She seems to be about as far along as I am and is also battling morning sickness.

Her post that really hit me was about Embracing Today, Making the Most of Where God Has You.  Here is a tidbit that really got me; I can use the hours spent lying still to help curb the nausea to devote extra time to prayer, reading God’s Word, and meditating on Scripture. I’ve found that even when the nausea is at its worst and I’m incapable of doing nothing else, I can still pray. What sweet times of fellowship I’ve had with the Lord as a result!”  I have had a terrible time doing this.  It was just a great reminder to me that I need to glorify God in all that he has given me.  I might be feeling misreable but God has blessed me so much with this baby and I need to be glad and be thankful!

I am really excited to have someone like Crystal to learn from in this time.  She was a big reason why I started blogging last year and she is a wonderful mother and Christian.  She posted this verse which God also gave me through a Bible study I was doing with Blake right before I knew I was pregnant.

Hebrews 12: 1-2
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.”
