Our Surprise

This weekend we got a little surprise!  Blake got a cute little boy Weim/Lab puppy.  He is 6 months old.  So far Chloe and him are doing really well.  I can’t wait to see them run around the yard together.  He really has taken to us quickly.  We just brought him home late this evening and now a couple hours later we are all just chilling out on the bed!

  1. OH MY GOODNESS! You are a family of four now! WOW! I will have to tell Diesel. He will be so excited to have two new playmates! That is awesome! Are you feeling overwhelmed?

  2. He is gorgeous. Is he a rescue?

  3. Wow! He looks handsome too. Let us know more about him. 🙂

  4. Aww he’s so cute. I had a chocolate lab all growing up and love them. Congrats on the new addition!

  5. YAY! Lucky Chloe has a friend! I keep telling mom and dad I should have a little sister, but they said not til they have their own house with a yard. Anyways, more details of your new four legged friend please! I’m gonna have to add him to Chloe’s Link in my friends page! Are you calling him Marley or Buck?

Thanks for the comment, I am really glad to be feeling better, I just wasn’t myself last week.
Oh yea, Mom said to let you know to keep your fingers crossed for her, she was called back to a second interview on Thursday, so she should be hearing this week if she got the new job!

  6. Hi, I am really interested in getting a weimaraner and I have been doing a lot of research. I’m in love with them. My only concern is that I live in NYC and I’m not sure if an apartment is suitable for this type of dog. I want to believe that I can do it, but my boyfriend keeps telling me that Weimaraner’s are not city dogs. Any one have a weimaraner in an apartment? Any Advice? Thanks!

  7. Patty,
I don’t think the apartment is that big of a deal per say, I think it’s the amount of activity that the dog will get outside of the apartment. I would imagine that you have plenty of dog parks around and great places to walk dogs in your area. Visits to the dog park on a regular basis and plenty of walks, a Weim can be great in any enviroment.

They also need plenty of attention, so I would consider the hours that you are home. Weims who don’t get plenty of activity and attention can be very destructive, more than most dogs. Erin and I have learned, along with other Weim owners; they have expensive taste.

If you are dedicated and have done your research, Weims are the best dogs in the world in my opinion. 🙂

I think Erin would agree with me on two things we could have done different. We should have looked more into Weim rescue. Tons of great Weims looking for good homes. Also, it seemed crazy at the time and to a point still does, we should have got two Weims. A second Weim with a little strategy and effort can really be a big help in the attention/activity issue that they have.

    Good luck!

  8. Congrats on the new puppy! He is a cutie… 🙂

  9. Awww! Hes so cute! We need to let Betsey Chloe and the new puppy play together sometime when you guys come up here!

  10. Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww…how sweet!!! =) I know you are excited!!!! I’m glad they are getting along!!!

  11. Erin, He is just beautiful. I do not see one speck of Lab in him. He looks all Weimie to me. He will be a wonderful addition to your family.

Is he a rescue dog? I read that he had tapeworm. How is he doing now?

  12. A Weim/Lab mix – what a wonderful mix it is. Great looking dog. We fostered a Weim once. Towanda, the Weim, was such a cool dog with so much character. It was hard to let her go to her new owner.

  13. What a great looking mix. Check out my blog. I am a Weimaraner in the desert and I write a blog!
