Cleaning Out the Closet

Many of you are probably having the same problem that I am having.  I have a closet full of clothes but I absolutely hate most of them!  My biggest problem is shirts.  I can never find anything that is long enough.  I hate wearing something and feeling like my belly is going to hang out all day.  So my Frugal tip today is…

In order to buy the new wardrobe pieces that I am really needing I am going to sell everything that I don’t wear on Ebay!  Since I never wear any of the items they are in wonderful condition.  I have never done this before but I hear you can do really well.  I figure as long as I make a small amount for them to put toward my new clothes I will be saving money!  I also plan to do my shopping after Christmas so I can catch the clearance sales!  Last night we sorted through all of our clothes and ended up with 2 large totes full of items.  I can’t wait to see how it goes!  I will update on here to let you all know!

  1. I haven’t sold clothing on Ebay, but I have sold homeschool curriculum, books, knick knacks, etc and have done fairly well. One thing that I would recommend is to keep your shipping cost as low as you can, but build in enough padding to cover your ebay and paypal fees. But still try to keep it low.

    Blessings!

  2. Thanks! I can use all the advise I can get on doing this!

  3. I also have trouble finding things that are long enough. I don’t like my back/belly showing when I reach up for something or bend over to get something. Being over weight doesn’t help either.

I just had a baby in August, I have lost all the baby weight from that pregnancy but I still have 62 more pounds to lose (from the first pregnancy and extra weight I gained after meeting my husband). I look forward to shopping for new clothes after I lose the weight!! Just gotta figure out how to pay for it.

    Good luck selling on ebay.

  4. I have a tip on finding things that are long enough- if you have a Ross or TJMaxx or stores like them in your area, try the junior section. Super-long tshirts are “in” for teens (some are even marketed as “mini-dresses” and I actually made it through the first 2/3 of my pregnancy in these. I just got the Juniors XL size.
